Two winters ago I went to the Caribbean for the first time, and now I understand why many New Englanders (such as Winslow Homer) around this time of year splurged on trips to warm, sunny places with blue water. Maybe next year I'll stock up on cerulean and rent a little house in Friendship Bay for the month of February.
